Dona Anderson
Biography
A graduate of the University of Washington, my
interest in art began when I took a class in Design at Everett Community
College from art instructor Russell Day. It opened a whole new world for
me where the assignments were exciting and the class discussion was
stimulating. At the same time, I was married and had four small children
so I took one class a quarter. Eventually I had my own studio in 1970
where I taught knotting and coiled basketry. I continued through the
years to draw, paint, assemble, knot, sew, cut and sculpt in various
media. I'm a member of several basketry organizations, Friends of Fiber Art
International, Lambda Rho, a University of Washington art honorary,
Northwest Designer Craftsmen and 2003 Artist of the Year for Snohomish
County, Washington.
